AI agent for mediators

Settlement Option Builder Agent

A ranked set of options that meet both sides' interests

Settlement Option Builder Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

When talks stall on a single number, mediators look for trades that meet each side's real interests. Using the recorded interests and limits, this agent proposes settlement options. It lists the issues, the interests behind them and possible trades such as payment timing, non-monetary terms, apologies or future business. It tests each option against each side's stated interests and limits. An option that breaks a limit is revised or dropped, and the revised version is tested again. It ranks options by how many interests they meet and notes what each side gives up. The mediator decides what to raise and how. Edge case: a structured payment meets the payer's cash need but the other side requires security, so the agent adds security terms.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensIn a business partner dispute, money was stuck at a $200,000 gap. The agent proposed a buyout paid over 24 months. The limit check failed because the selling partner required security for any deferred payment. It revised the option to add a lien on equipment and a non-compete carve-out. The revised option met 5 of 6 interests, and the mediator raised it.
