AI agent for biomedical engineers
Sterilization and Shelf-Life Validation Tracker Agent
Every pull is completed on time, each result is checked against criteria, and the shelf-life claim matches the evidence
What it does
Aging and package studies run for months, and a missed test pull or a lapsed protocol can force the team to repeat them. This agent keeps the schedule for accelerated aging, real-time aging and sterile barrier tests. It lists every pull date, checks that samples were tested on time, and reads each result as it arrives against its acceptance criterion. Late pulls are flagged the same day. When a result fails or trends toward failing, it proposes follow-up testing such as added time points or a retest. After each update it rechecks the study timeline against the claimed shelf life. The quality lead approves any shelf-life claim. Edge case: an oven log shows a temperature excursion during aging, so the agent flags the affected pull as questionable instead of counting it.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Daily study check or new result arrives
- Read protocol, pull schedule and chamber logs
- Flag missed or upcoming pulls
- Read new test results
- Does each result meet its acceptance criterion and was the chamber in range? If not: mark the result questionable and propose a retest or added time point. Back to step 3.
- Recalculate the supported shelf life from passing time points
- Does the supported shelf life cover the claimed shelf life?If not: propose follow-up testing or a shorter claim. Back to step 5.
- Draft the study status summary
- Quality lead approves any claim or follow-up planThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Updated study tracker and approved claim
How it decides
A result counts only if the pull was on time and chamber conditions stayed in range. A failing or trending result triggers a follow-up proposal.
- Flag a pull as late when it is more than 2 days past due
- Treat a chamber excursion beyond protocol limits as questionable data
- Propose an added time point when a result is within 5% of its limit
- Never extend a claim beyond the longest passing time point
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Days late before a pull is flagged (default 2)
- Acceptance criteria sets
- Which chambers to monitor
- Report schedule
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Shelf-life claim
- Follow-up test plan
Hard limits
- Never extends a claim beyond the data
- Never edits raw results
It stops when
- Done: all pulls tested and claim supported
- Stop: protocol is missing or a deviation needs quality review
