AI agent for chief of staffs

Strategic Decision Reversal Agent

Decisions are revisited exactly when their stated reversal conditions are met.

Strategic Decision Reversal Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Decisions are often made with conditions under which they should be revisited, but nobody watches those conditions. This agent checks the declared reversal triggers against current evidence on a schedule or when a metric moves. If a trigger is met, it gathers confirming evidence and checks how long the change has lasted. It separates a temporary blip from a sustained change. A blip is noted, and monitoring continues. A sustained, supported change produces a reconsideration packet for leadership. Leadership decides whether to reverse the decision. Edge case: a trigger metric whose source changed method is flagged before any comparison.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

  8. Trigger-based decision review

How it decides

It confirms a trigger with additional evidence and duration before raising it; short fluctuations go to monitoring.

  • Trigger met: judged by the declared threshold.
  • Sustained or temporary: by duration and recovery evidence.
  • Method change: flag before comparing to the threshold.
  • Packet: only for sustained, supported changes.

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Decisions and triggers monitored
  • Check schedule (default monthly plus on metric movement)
  • Minimum duration before a change counts as sustained (default 30 days)
  • Evidence sources per trigger
  • Who receives reconsideration packets (default the leadership team)

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Reversing strategy or contracts

Hard limits

  • Never reverses decisions.

It stops when

  • Done: packet prepared or trigger cleared.

An example run

What happensA decision to single-source packaging from one supplier had a trigger: more than 2 outages a quarter. On August 19 a 4-hour outage brings the quarter to 3. The sustained check fails: the supplier documented recovery within an hour each time and passed an audit. The agent logs it as continued monitoring. In October a fourth outage with no recovery plan leads to a reconsideration packet, which leadership reviews.
