AI agent for operations managers

Support Queue Misclassification Agent

Tickets land in the right specialist queue.

Support Queue Misclassification Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

When tickets are labeled wrongly, they sit in the wrong queue and specialists never see them. Customers wait while tickets get passed around. Each week this agent reads tickets that were reassigned and chooses the correct category from what the customer actually asked for, not from incidental words or attachments like an invoice. It writes the corrected labels to a staging copy and measures whether agreement with reviewer decisions improves. If agreement does not improve, it proposes a more specific routing rule or logs the case as unresolved. The support operations manager approves any change to live routing rules. Edge case: a ticket with two separate requests is labeled by the first request and flagged for splitting.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It chooses categories from the substance of the request and measures agreement with reviewers; disagreement leads to a sharper rule proposal.

  • Category: decided by the main request, not incidental attachments or words.
  • Rule proposal: when the same confusion repeats in five or more tickets.
  • Unresolved: log a case when reviewers themselves disagree.
  • Two requests: label by the first and flag the ticket for splitting.

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Target agreement with reviewers (default 85%)
  • Review window (default reassigned tickets from the last 7 days)
  • Minimum repeats before a rule is proposed (default 5)
  • Categories in scope (default all support queues)
  • Who approves routing changes (default the support operations manager)

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Production routing policy
  • Customer replies

Hard limits

  • Staging labels only.

It stops when

  • Done: agreement target met.
  • Needs a human: reviewers disagree.

An example run

What happensIn the review of June 24 the agent finds 46 reassigned tickets. Many tickets with invoice attachments went to Billing but were about login problems. Staged labels raise reviewer agreement from 71% to 78%, below the 85% target, so the check fails. The agent proposes a rule that the request text, not attachments, decides the queue. Agreement reaches 88%. Ops manager Gil Rosen approves the rule.
