AgentValet MCP server

by AgentValet

Give your AI its own ID and limited keys, so it can use other apps without holding your passwords.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Send that file to my work chat”, the AgentValet MCP server connects it to Your other apps, and you get back the answer, plus a log entry.

AgentValet is a helper that gives your AI assistant its own identity and its own short-lived keys, instead of letting it borrow yours. It is handy if you let ChatGPT or Claude do things in other apps and you want to know exactly what it did, and be able to stop it. You approve what it is allowed to touch, and every action gets written down.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to AgentValet, a service that hands out limited, short-lived keys and keeps a record of what your AI did. So instead of your AI holding your real password, it asks AgentValet for a temporary pass, and AgentValet checks with you first when the action matters.

What this MCP server does

You set up AgentValet once, and it gives your AI its own identity and a private key that stays on your computer. When your AI wants to do something in another app, it asks AgentValet through this helper. AgentValet checks whether you allowed that action, asks you to approve it if it is risky, and then uses the real password quietly behind the scenes. You get the result back in your chat, and a line in the audit log saying which AI did what and when.

What you can do with it

  • See which platforms your AI is allowed to use
  • Ask your AI to use one of those platforms for a task
  • Approve or reject actions that need a human check
  • Check the status of your AI agent
  • Review which actions are waiting for your approval
  • Run a self-check to see if the setup is healthy

What it gives back to you

You get plain answers in the chat: a list of platforms, the result of the action you asked for, or a note saying the action is waiting for your approval. If something needs your sign-off, the reply tells you so and points you to the dashboard. Everything your AI did is also written into an audit log you can read and export later.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AgentValet account (the free tier is enough to start)
  • The Claude desktop app or another MCP-compatible client
  • Node.js installed on your computer
  • Permission to run one setup command in your terminal

Good to know

Your AI can take real actions in other apps through this helper, so review the scopes you grant and check the approval requests before you say yes.
