Nightlife MCP server

by alcylu

Find Tokyo nightlife events, venues and performers, and send VIP table booking requests through your AI.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What nightlife events are on in Tokyo tonight?”, the Nightlife MCP server connects it to Nightlife service, and you get back A list of events and venues.

This is a helper that lets your AI look up nightlife events, venues and performers, mostly in Tokyo, and even start a VIP table booking request. It is handy if you are planning a night out and want your AI to do the searching and checking for you instead of opening five different websites.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to a nightlife database, so when you ask about events or tables, the AI can look things up there and bring the answers back to you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what is on tonight or which venues have VIP tables. The AI sends your question to this helper, which talks to the nightlife service behind the scenes. The service searches its event, venue and performer data and sends results back. Your AI then turns those results into a normal answer in your chat, and if you want a VIP table it can submit a booking request for you.

What you can do with it

  • Search nightlife events by date or city
  • See what is happening tonight
  • Get details about a specific event
  • Search venues and read venue information
  • Look up performers and their upcoming events
  • Check VIP table availability and table charts
  • Submit a VIP table booking request and check its status

Try asking your AI

  • “What nightlife events are happening in Tokyo tonight?”
  • “Find me venues in Tokyo that support VIP table booking.”
  • “Who is performing this weekend and where?”
  • “Check VIP table availability at this venue for Saturday and start a booking request.”

What it gives back to you

You get back normal chat answers: lists of events, venues or performers, short details about each one, and upcoming event snapshots. For VIP bookings you get availability information, a table chart, and a booking status you can check later. It also tells you clearly when something is not found or a date is not valid.

Before you start

What you need

  • A free API key from nightlife.dev (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one for free)
  • The Claude desktop app or another AI client that supports MCP servers

Good to know

It can send a real VIP table booking request on your behalf, so confirm the date, time and venue carefully before you let it submit.
