FreeBazi MCP server
by alexsu1212
Your AI can build a full Chinese Bazi (Four Pillars) chart from a birth date, time and city.

This is a small helper that lets your AI build a Chinese Bazi chart, also called the Four Pillars of Destiny. You give it a birth date, a time and a city, and it works out the whole chart for you. It is handy if you are curious about Bazi, or if you read charts for friends and want a quick starting point.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill, in this case the skill of building Bazi charts. Once it is connected, your AI can take the birth details you type and pass them to this helper, which does the actual chart math. You never touch the helper yourself. You just talk to your AI like always.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI the birth date, time, city and gender. Your AI sends those details to this helper program running on your own computer. The helper works out the True Solar Time for that city, adjusts for any daylight saving that was in force back then, and builds the four pillars. It also fills in the Day Master, the Ten Gods, hidden stems, Na Yin, the Five Elements, Shen Sha, branch relations and the luck pillars. Then your AI shows you all of that in the chat, plus a link to the full interactive chart on freebazi.com.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Build a complete Bazi chart from a birth date, time and city
- Find your Day Master and what each character means as a Ten God
- See how the Five Elements are spread across the chart
- List the Shen Sha and the branch relations like clashes and combinations
- Show the luck pillars with the current one flagged, plus this year's pillar
- Look up a city by English or Chinese name to get its longitude and time zone
Try asking your AI
- “Compute the Bazi chart for someone born 15 June 1990, 9:30 AM, in New York, male.”
- “Build a Bazi chart for a woman born 3 March 1985 at 11:45 PM in Taipei.”
- “I only know the birth date, not the time. Chart 20 August 1978 in London, time unknown.”
- “Search for the city Kaohsiung so I can use it in a chart.”
What it gives back to you
You get the four pillars back, each written as a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Along with them come the Day Master, the Ten Gods, hidden stems, Na Yin, the Twelve Growth Stages, the Five Elements counts, Shen Sha, branch relations, the luck pillars and the current year's pillar. It all shows up as text in your chat, plus a link to the full interactive chart on freebazi.com. Nothing is saved anywhere, and no account is needed.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer on your computer
- The Claude desktop app or another MCP client like Cline, Continue or Cursor
- The birth date, time and city you want to chart
Good to know
Bazi is a traditional framework for reflection on temperament and timing, so treat the chart as something to think about rather than a prediction of events.
