OpenFate Bazi MCP server
by openfate-ai
Let your AI build accurate Bazi (Four Pillars) charts instead of guessing the calendar math.

This is a small helper that lets your AI do proper Bazi (Four Pillars) chart calculations. It runs on your own computer and does the tricky calendar work for you. It is handy if you read or write about Bazi and want the chart numbers to be right.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot look up a real chart or run a calculation you can trust. An MCP server is a small helper program you connect once, and it gives your AI a new skill. Here that skill is Bazi calculation, so when you ask for a chart, your AI calls this helper and gets real results back instead of making them up.
What this MCP server does
You type a birth date and time into your chat, along with the place or timezone. Your AI passes those details to this helper. The helper runs the Bazi calculation on your computer, including solar terms, True Solar Time, and the day boundary rules. Then it hands the results back to your AI, which explains them to you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Build a full Bazi chart from a birth date, time, and place
- Correct the hour pillar using True Solar Time
- Convert between lunar and solar calendar dates
- List Da Yun luck cycles with their timing
- Spot branch relationships like clashes, combinations, and harms
- Work backwards from a four-pillar string to possible birth times
- Explain why one tool's hour pillar differs from another's
Try asking your AI
- “Build a Bazi chart for someone born 15 June 1990 at 14:30 in Taipei, female”
- “Why does the hour pillar change when I use True Solar Time?”
- “What branch interactions are in this chart: 戊寅 己未 己卯 辛未?”
- “Find possible birth dates for the Bazi 戊寅 己未 己卯 辛未”
What it gives back to you
You get a structured chart back: the four pillars, Ten Gods, hidden stems, Na Yin, void branches, and growth stages. It also includes the Da Yun cycles with a timing receipt, and the calendar data used. Your AI then turns that into a readable explanation in the chat.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js installed on your computer
- The Claude desktop app, Cursor, Cline, or another tool that supports MCP servers
Good to know
The reverse lookup only gives possible candidate times, so always recalculate with the exact birth place, timezone, and True Solar Time before treating a result as final.
