SportScore MCP server
by Backspace-me
Lets your AI look up live scores, standings, top scorers and brackets for football, basketball, cricket and tennis.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to SportScore, a free sports data service. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI about matches, tables and players, and it will fetch the answer for you. It is handy if you follow sports and want quick updates without opening five different websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to SportScore, so it can look up real match data when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works under the hood, you just install it once and then talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a sports question in plain words, like which matches are live right now. The AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper then talks to the SportScore service and pulls back the latest data. The AI reads that data and explains it to you in the chat. You get scores, tables, player numbers and brackets without leaving the conversation.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check which matches are live or recently finished in a sport
- Look up the current league table or standings
- See who the top scorers or assist leaders are
- Find a team's upcoming fixtures
- Get details for one match, like the score, status and lineups
- Look up a player's stats
- View a knockout tournament bracket
Try asking your AI
- “What Premier League matches are live right now?”
- “Show me the NBA standings.”
- “Who are the top scorers in La Liga?”
- “What's Barcelona's next fixture?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers written out in the chat, usually as a list or a short summary. For example, a list of live matches with scores, a league table, or a player's numbers. The AI may also show a small line saying Powered by SportScore with each result. Nothing is changed on your computer, it only reads information.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app, or another app that supports MCP servers
- Node.js installed on your computer (the free software that runs the helper)
Good to know
It only reads public sports data, so there is nothing risky to change or delete, but the free service has a daily request limit and asks that the Powered by SportScore line stays visible.
Install it with your AI
Add SportScore MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check SportScore MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Sports fans and anyone who wants quick scores, tables and player stats without leaving their AI chat.
