Lets your AI check what stories are moving in crypto, AI and macro, and whether a trade idea fits them.

signaldaemon is a service that watches what people are talking about in crypto, AI and the wider economy, and pulls those stories together into short, ranked summaries. This page shows how to connect it to your AI so the AI can look up those summaries for you. It is handy if you follow markets or write about them and want a quick read on what is getting attention.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one extra skill or connection. This one connects your AI to signaldaemon, a service that tracks narratives and signals across crypto, AI and macro topics. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI about those topics and it will go and fetch the answer from signaldaemon instead of guessing.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what is moving in crypto today. Your AI passes that request to signaldaemon through this connection. signaldaemon looks at its own curated set of sources and returns a ranked list of narratives, or a clean feed for the topic you named. If it has nothing on that topic, it says so instead of making something up. You then see the result in your chat, in plain text.

What you can do with it

  • Get the day's ranked narratives across crypto, AI and macro
  • Pull a clean feed of items for one topic you name
  • Check whether a trade idea fits or clashes with the current narrative
  • Ask for a shorter or longer list by setting a limit
  • Filter a feed by category
  • See a stance and a confidence level for a trade you are considering

Try asking your AI

  • “What are the top narratives in crypto right now?”
  • “Give me a clean feed about restaking, eight items max.”
  • “I am thinking of buying ETH. Does the narrative side support that?”
  • “Show me the biggest AI and macro narratives today, five of them.”

What it gives back to you

You get back short written results in the chat: a ranked list of narratives with their names and details, or a feed of items for the topic you asked about. For a trade check, you get a stance such as support, caution, contradict or no_signal, plus a short reason and a confidence level. If signaldaemon has no coverage for your question, it tells you that instead of inventing an answer.

Before you start

What you need

  • An API key from signaldaemon (a kind of password for apps; you can request one for free at their site, no signup needed)
  • An AI tool that can connect to remote MCP servers, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Cline
  • If your tool cannot connect to remote servers: Python with the mcp package installed, or Docker

Good to know

The trade check gives a view on the story around a trade, not financial advice, and it can say it has no signal, so do not treat it as a buy or sell call.
