Alchemy MCP server
by alchemyplatform · official
Lets your AI look up blockchain and crypto data through Alchemy's onchain APIs.

This is a helper from Alchemy, a company that runs blockchain data services. Once you connect it, your AI assistant can look up crypto and blockchain information for you instead of just talking about it. It is handy for anyone who works with crypto, web3, or onchain data and wants quick answers in plain chat.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Alchemy, a service that holds blockchain and crypto data. So when you ask a question about onchain activity, your AI can reach out to Alchemy and bring back the answer.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about blockchain or crypto data. Your AI passes that request to the Alchemy MCP server. The server talks to Alchemy's blockchain APIs and pulls the information you asked for. Then your AI shows you the result in the chat, in normal words. You never have to touch any code or settings yourself.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Look up onchain data for a wallet or token
- Check blockchain activity through Alchemy's APIs
- Ask questions about crypto data in plain chat
- Get answers without writing any code
- Sign in with your Alchemy account instead of managing keys
Try asking your AI
- “What is the latest activity for this wallet address?”
- “Can you look up onchain data for this token?”
- “Show me what Alchemy knows about this blockchain address”
- “Check this wallet's recent transactions using Alchemy”
What it gives back to you
You get answers back in the chat, in plain words. Depending on what you ask, that could be a summary of onchain data, details about a wallet or token, or a list of activity. Your AI presents it as a normal reply, so you do not have to read raw data yourself.
Before you start
What you need
- An Alchemy account (you sign in when prompted)
- An MCP-compatible AI client, such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, or VS Code Copilot
Good to know
It reads data from your Alchemy account and the blockchains it covers, so only connect it if you are comfortable sharing that access with your AI.
Install it with your AI
Add Alchemy MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Alchemy MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who work with crypto, web3, or onchain data and want quick answers in chat without writing code.
