Perfume Picks MCP server
by bguillow-rgb · official
Let your AI search a fragrance database, find cheaper smell-alikes, compare scents and suggest what to wear.

This is a helper that connects your AI to the Perfume Picks fragrance database. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI about perfumes in normal words and it will look things up for you. It is handy if you love fragrance, are shopping for a new scent, or want a cheaper version of something expensive.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Perfume Picks, a fragrance database with over 13,000 scents. So when you ask about a perfume, your AI can actually look it up there instead of guessing.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about fragrance, like what smells like a certain expensive perfume. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which looks it up in the Perfume Picks database. The database sends back the matching scents, their notes, accords, prices and community scores. Your AI then turns that into a normal answer in your chat. Everything is read-only, so it only looks things up and never changes anything.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search fragrances by name, brand, family or gender
- Find cheaper dupes of an expensive scent with a match percentage
- Compare two fragrances side by side
- Get recommendations based on notes, budget and occasion
- See what fragrances are trending right now
- Get a suggestion for what to wear tonight
- Look up the full note pyramid and accords for one scent
Try asking your AI
- “What smells like Baccarat Rouge 540 without the price tag?”
- “Recommend a fragrance for a summer wedding.”
- “What perfumes have bergamot, vanilla and amber?”
- “Compare Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel.”
- “What should I wear on a date tonight?”
What it gives back to you
You get back a normal answer in your chat, often with a short list of fragrances, their notes, accords and prices. For dupes you also see a match percentage and how much you would save. Comparisons come back as a side-by-side of notes, shared and different accords, scores and price difference. Each answer includes a source line and links you can cite.
