Sunshine Atlas MCP server
by Flightmussy
Ask your AI where it is sunny and warm, month by month, for 3,833 destinations.

This is a small online helper that lets your AI answer questions about sunshine, temperatures, rain and sea warmth for thousands of places around the world. It is handy if you are planning a holiday, comparing two destinations, or just wondering where the sun usually shines in a given month.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Sunshine Atlas, a public climate dataset for 3,833 destinations. Once it is connected, your AI can look up sunshine scores and climate details there and bring the answers back to you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question in plain words, like where it is sunny in November. Your AI passes that question to this helper. The helper checks the Sunshine Atlas climate data and finds matching destinations. You get back a ranked list or a comparison, with the numbers behind it. Everything is read-only, so it only looks things up and never changes anything.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Find sunny and warm destinations for a specific month
- Filter results by continent, country, minimum day temperature, swimmable sea or population

- Look up a place by city name, city and country, or airport code

Try asking your AI
- “Where is it sunny and warm in November, with a sea I can swim in?”
- “When is the best time to visit Faro?”
- “Compare the Algarve and Crete in October.”
- “Show me sunny destinations in Asia in February with daytime temperatures above 25 degrees.”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat: a ranked list of destinations, a 12-month climate card for one place, or a side-by-side comparison with a short verdict. Each result includes the numbers, like the Sunshine Score from 0 to 100, temperatures, rainfall and sea temperature. It also includes a link to the destination page on sunshineatlas.com so you can check the source.

Good to know
The data describes long-term climate averages, not this week's weather, so treat it as a guide to typical conditions rather than a forecast.
