Dify Workflow MCP server
by gotoolkits
Let your AI list and run your Dify workflows, so you can trigger them just by asking in chat.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Dify, a platform where people build their own automated workflows. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to run one of your Dify workflows and get the result right in the chat. It is handy if you already use Dify and want to trigger your workflows without opening the Dify website.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This helper connects your AI to Dify, so it can look up your workflows and run them for you. You just ask in plain words, and the helper does the talking to Dify behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "run my translator workflow on this text". The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper then talks to your Dify account using the workflow name and the API key you set up. Dify runs the workflow and sends the result back. The helper hands that result to your AI, and you see the answer in your chat window.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List the Dify workflows you have authorized
- Run a specific Dify workflow by name
- Send a message or input into a workflow and get its output
- Trigger several different workflows from one chat
- Check which workflows are available before running one
Try asking your AI
- “List the Dify workflows I can use”
- “Run my workflow-translator workflow with the message: This is a test message”
- “Execute the workflow named workflow-genImage with the input hello world”
- “Which Dify workflows are available to me right now”
What it gives back to you
You get back whatever the workflow produces, shown as text in the chat. For a translator workflow, that might be the translated sentence. For other workflows, it could be a summary, a short answer, or a generated piece of text. The helper also gives a simple list when you ask which workflows are available.
Before you start
What you need
- A Dify account with at least one workflow created
- The API key for each workflow you want to use (Dify generates this for you in the workflow settings)
- The address of your Dify API server, for example http://localhost/v1
- The compiled helper program installed on your computer
Good to know
Running a workflow can change things in Dify or in whatever service that workflow touches, so only run workflows you trust.
Install it with your AI
Add Dify Workflow MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Dify Workflow MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who already build workflows in Dify and want to run them from their AI chat instead of switching to the Dify website.
