Sui Trader MCP server

by kukapay

Lets your AI swap tokens on the Sui blockchain when you ask it to.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Swap 1.5 SUI to USDC with 2% slippage”, the Sui Trader MCP server connects it to Sui blockchain, and you get back transaction ID and status.

This is a small helper program that connects your AI assistant to the Sui blockchain so it can swap one token for another. It is handy if you already hold tokens on Sui and want to trade them by just typing a request in plain words. You do not need to be a developer, but you do need a Sui wallet key.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to the Sui blockchain, so when you ask for a swap, the AI can actually carry it out for you. Think of it as giving your assistant a wallet and a trading desk.

What this MCP server does

You type a request like swapping some SUI for USDC. Your AI reads that request and passes it to this helper program. The helper uses your Sui private key to sign the swap and sends it through the Cetus Aggregator, which finds a route on Sui. When the swap finishes, you get back a transaction ID and a status, usually success.

What you can do with it

  • Swap one token for another on the Sui blockchain
  • Set a slippage limit so you do not get a worse price than you expect
  • Choose a fixed input amount for the swap
  • Get a transaction ID and status back in the chat
  • Use your own Sui private key stored safely in the settings

Try asking your AI

  • “Swap 1.5 SUI to USDC with 2% slippage, using a fixed input amount.”
  • “Trade 10 USDC for SUI with 1% slippage.”
  • “Swap 0.5 SUI to USDT with 0.5% slippage.”
  • “Convert 100 SUI to USDC, fixed input, 3% slippage.”

What it gives back to you

After a swap, you get a short message in the chat with the transaction ID and the status, for example success. That is the receipt for the trade on the Sui blockchain. You can copy the transaction ID and look it up on a Sui explorer if you want to see the details.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js version 18 or newer
  • npm (comes with Node.js)
  • A Sui private key in bech32 format (starts with suiprivkey)

Good to know

This tool can move real money from your Sui wallet, and if you share your private key or set slippage too high you could lose funds.
