Quartermaster MCP server
by Tanshaydar
Lets your AI search the game assets you already own across Unity, Fab, Megascans, Gumroad and Cosmos.

Quartermaster is a helper that keeps an index of all the game assets you own, gathered from stores like the Unity Asset Store, Fab, Quixel Megascans, Gumroad and Leartes Cosmos. It runs on your own computer and lets your AI assistant search that library for you. It is handy if you build games or 3D scenes and have a pile of bought or free assets you never remember.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see your hard drive or your game asset purchases. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, and here it connects your AI to your own asset library. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI things like what you own that could help build a dam, and it will look inside your local Quartermaster index instead of guessing.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about your game assets, in plain words. The AI passes that question to Quartermaster. Quartermaster searches its local index of everything you own, using keywords, meaning-based search and even the pictures in the listings. It hands back a list of matching assets, with details like where they come from and whether they are already downloaded. Your AI then explains the results to you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Find assets you own that match a description, even if the listing never uses your words
- Search by look and feel, using the screenshots and promo images of your assets
- Check whether two assets will work together or clash in your project
- See whether an asset is already downloaded on your disk or still in the cloud
- Unpack a downloaded package straight into your project's Assets folder
- Get full details on a single asset, including its store page and gallery
- Audit a project to see its engine, version and render pipeline
What it gives back to you
You get a list of matching assets, each with its name, source store, and a short note on why it matched. Some results include physical details like scan size or texture maps. You also get answers to questions like whether two assets conflict, or whether something is already on your disk. If you ask it to unpack a package, it tells you what it placed into your project folder.
Before you start
What you need
- A Windows computer (the standalone bundle is Windows x64)
- Python 3.10 or newer if you install from source
- A one-time sign-in to each store you want to index, done in a normal browser window
- About 150 MB of model files downloaded on first natural language or vision search
Good to know
It can write files into your project folder when you ask it to unpack an asset, so point it at the right project and keep a backup.
Install it with your AI
