This is a small helper that lets your AI look up real prices for getting between Italian cities, by train, bus, ferry or private car. It covers popular routes like Rome to Florence or Milan to Venice, plus airport runs. It is handy if you are planning an Italy trip and want quick price comparisons without opening ten different booking sites.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to the Italy Transfers service, which tracks live prices for trains, buses, ferries and private transfers across Italy. Once it is connected, you can just ask your AI about a route and it will fetch the current prices for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like how much a train from Rome to Florence costs next Friday. Your AI passes that question to this helper. The helper talks to the Italy Transfers service, which checks live prices across the routes it covers. Then it sends the results back and your AI shows them to you in the chat, usually as a short list of options with prices and times.

What it gives back to you

You get back a short list of travel options for the route you asked about, with prices and usually some timing details. If you ask for the cheapest day, it returns the day that came out lowest. If you ask for route info, you get a summary of that route. Everything shows up as normal text in your chat, so you can read it and ask follow-up questions.
