This is a helper that connects your AI to real-time public transport data for Lviv, Ukraine. You can ask about when the next tram arrives, which route gets you from one stop to another, or where the buses are right now. It is handy if you live in or visit Lviv and want quick answers without opening a separate app.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to Lviv transport data. Once it is connected, your AI can ask this helper for live arrivals, routes and vehicle positions, and then explain the answer to you in plain words. You just ask your question, and the helper does the looking up.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like when the next tram leaves a stop. The AI sends that question to this helper, which reads live Lviv transport feeds and timetable data. The helper finds the stop, checks the next arrivals and sends the answer back. Your AI then tells you the route, the direction and how many minutes you have. It can also find routes between two stops, show vehicles on a route, or list stops near a location.

What it gives back to you

You get back a short natural-language summary in the chat, like which route is coming and in how many minutes. Behind that, the helper also returns structured details such as stop names, route numbers, directions, walking distances and vehicle positions. If your AI app supports maps, it can show the stops or vehicles on a map too. Everything is read-only, so nothing is changed or booked.

Good to know

It is read-only, so it cannot change or book anything, but the live arrival times come from an external feed and may occasionally be out of date.
