Axiom Calculator MCP server
by vdalhambra
Ask your AI to run mortgage, loan, savings and retirement math for you, with real numbers.

This is a small helper that gives your AI a set of personal finance calculators. You ask a normal question about a mortgage, a loan, or saving for retirement, and it does the math for you. It is handy for anyone comparing loans, planning a house purchase, or figuring out when they could stop working.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It can talk about mortgages, but it cannot reliably crunch the numbers for your exact situation. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one gives it a set of finance calculators, so when you ask a money question, the AI can run the actual math and hand you back the answer.
What this MCP server does
You type a question in plain English, like how much a house would cost you each month. Your AI reads the question, picks the right calculator from this helper, and fills in the numbers you gave it. The helper runs the math on your own computer and sends the result back. Your AI then explains the result in the chat, sometimes with a year-by-year table. No website, no account, no waiting.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Work out your monthly mortgage payment and total interest
- Compare renting versus buying a home over several years
- Project how an investment grows with monthly contributions
- Find your retirement number and how many years away it is
- Check whether your investments actually beat inflation
- Compare two loan offers side by side, including fees
- See how fast you can clear a debt and how much interest you save
Try asking your AI
- “I'm looking at a 450,000 dollar house with 20 percent down at 6.8 percent for 30 years. What's my monthly payment and total interest?”
- “Compare a 15 year loan at 6.2 percent versus a 30 year loan at 6.8 percent for 380,000 dollars. Which is better overall?”
- “I spend 48,000 dollars a year. How much do I need to retire, and how long will it take if I save 24,000 dollars a year?”
- “I have 8,500 dollars in credit card debt at 22 percent APR. How long to pay it off at 250 dollars a month, and how much do I save if I add 100 dollars extra?”
What it gives back to you
You get clear answers in the chat: a monthly payment, a total interest figure, a number of years, or a comparison between two options. Some calculators also give you a year-by-year table, like an amortization schedule or an investment growth table. Everything is written out in the conversation, so you can copy it or ask follow-up questions. Nothing is saved anywhere unless you save it yourself.
Before you start
What you need
- An MCP client, like the Claude desktop app or Claude Code
- uvx installed on your computer (a small tool that runs Python programs; the install guide for uv explains it)
Good to know
The numbers are only as good as what you type in, and this is a calculator, not financial advice, so check important decisions with a professional.
Install it with your AI
Add Axiom Calculator MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Axiom Calculator MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone comparing loans, planning a home purchase, saving for retirement, or trying to pay off debt, especially people who want quick numbers without a finance website.
