Wander Agent is a free add-on that gives your AI assistant real travel information instead of made-up answers. You ask about flights, hotels, visas, or points, and it goes and checks live sources for you. It is handy for anyone who plans trips, whether that is a holiday, a work trip, or a family visit.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat from what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to travel data sources like Google Flights, Open-Meteo weather, US State Department advisories, and OpenStreetMap. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up and do travel research for you when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You type a normal travel question to your AI, like asking for flights or visa rules. The AI passes that question to Wander Agent, which then queries real travel sources such as flight search sites, weather services, and government advisory pages. Wander Agent sends the results back to your AI, and your AI turns them into a clear answer for you. You do not have to visit any of those websites yourself. Everything happens inside the chat you already use.

What it gives back to you
You get answers in your normal chat window, written in plain language. That can be a list of flights with prices and booking links, a visa verdict with an official apply link, a weather forecast, a daily budget estimate, or a full itinerary. If you ask it to save a trip or watch a fare, it remembers that for next time. Nothing is changed on any travel site unless you follow a booking link yourself.

- Python 3.10 or newer on your computer
- The Wander Agent program installed (one command)
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Cursor
Good to know
It only reads travel data and never books or pays for anything, but always double-check prices, visa rules, and safety advice on the official site before you commit.
