Orbit Sentinel is a search service for space regulatory paperwork. It holds over 950,000 filings from the FCC, ITU, UNOOSA and FAA. This MCP server lets your AI assistant look things up in that archive for you, so you do not have to dig through the websites yourself.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Orbit Sentinel, the space regulatory filing archive. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI a question and it will go look it up in Orbit Sentinel for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question about space regulatory filings, like which companies hold spectrum for a certain band. Your AI sends that question to this helper, which talks to the Orbit Sentinel service. Orbit Sentinel searches its archive of filings and sends back the matching results. Your AI then reads those results and gives you a plain answer in the chat. You never have to visit the Orbit Sentinel website or learn its search syntax.

What you can do with it

  • Search FCC, ITU, UNOOSA and FAA space filings by keyword
  • Look up a company or organisation profile and its filings
  • Check spectrum holdings for a satellite operator
  • Find launch licenses and related approvals
  • Get alerts about new filings that match your interests
  • Ask follow-up questions about a filing you found

Try asking your AI

  • “What FCC filings mention Starlink spectrum in the Ka band?”
  • “Show me the UNOOSA profile for a satellite operator called Astrocast”
  • “Which companies filed for launch licenses with the FAA in the last year?”
  • “Are there any new ITU filings about Ku band satellites this month?”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, written in plain language. Depending on what you ask, your AI may show a list of matching filings with dates and titles, a summary of a company profile, or a short note about spectrum or licenses. It can also point you to the original filing if you want to read it yourself.

Before you start

What you need

  • An Orbit Sentinel API key from console.viventine.com (beta access)
  • An MCP client like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Cursor

Good to know

This server only reads public regulatory filings, so it cannot change or delete anything, but your questions and results go through the Orbit Sentinel service, so do not paste private or confidential information into your prompts.

Install it with your AI
