This is a helper for your AI that connects it to a big catalog of paid web services, called x402 APIs. When you ask your AI to do something that needs one of those services, it can pay a tiny amount of USDC (a kind of digital dollar) to use it. It is handy for people who want their AI to reach beyond its own knowledge, but it does involve real money and crypto, so it is not for everyone.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This particular helper connects your AI to a marketplace of paid web services, so it can look up prices, pick one, and pay for it on your behalf. You stay in the chat; the helper handles the technical back and forth.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to do something, like check some data or run a small task. The AI looks through a catalog of paid services that this helper keeps up to date. It picks one that fits, and the helper pays a small amount of USDC from a wallet you set up. The service does its work and sends the result back. Your AI then shows you the answer in the chat, and you can see what it cost.

What you can do with it

  • Discover paid web services your AI can use, without you hunting for them
  • Pay small amounts of USDC automatically for each service call
  • Set a maximum price per call so you never overspend
  • Use services on Base or Solana networks with USDC
  • Get fresh services added every few minutes without restarting
  • Run everything from your own computer with your own wallet

Try asking your AI

  • “Find me a service that can check the current price of Bitcoin and use it”
  • “Use one of the paid APIs to look up recent news about electric cars”
  • “What paid services are available for translating text, and how much do they cost?”
  • “Run a quick check on this wallet address using a paid API, but keep it under 5 cents”

What it gives back to you

You get back whatever the paid service provides, usually as text in the chat: a number, a short summary, a list, or a small piece of data. The helper also tells your AI how much the call cost. You can then ask follow-up questions or try another service.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app (or another AI app that supports MCP servers)
  • Node.js installed on your computer
  • A crypto wallet private key for Base with some USDC in it (use a fresh burner wallet, not your main one)
  • A small amount of USDC to pay for calls

Good to know

This helper spends real USDC from your wallet for each call, so use a fresh burner wallet and set a low MAX_PRICE_USD to avoid surprises.
