‘AI For Everyone’ Returns to Edmonds College on June 28
Edmonds College will host its third annual AI For Everyone Day on Saturday, June 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This free event, part of the AI Community Connections Speaker Series, will take place at Hazel Miller Hall on campus and is open to the public.
This year’s theme, Applications and Opportunities in Our Community, focuses on practical AI uses and how community members can benefit from emerging AI technologies in everyday life.
Dr. Carey Schroyer, Dean of STEM at Edmonds College, explains, “Our goal is to make AI accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. This event breaks down AI concepts and offers insights and tools to help people understand AI’s current and future potential.”
What to Expect at AI For Everyone Day
- Interactive Workshops: Participate in hands-on activities that demonstrate AI in daily life.
- Expert Talks: Hear from Edmonds College faculty and AI enthusiasts about AI possibilities and ethics.
- AI Labs: Try out common AI tools and apps with guidance—no previous AI experience needed.

The event is free and open to everyone. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with check-in between 9:45 and 10:15 a.m. Parking is available in lots A, B, C, E, and F.

11:15 – 12:00: AI and Us: Keeping our Moral Skills Sharp in a High-Tech World
Discuss how increased reliance on AI might affect our ethical decision-making and explore ways to maintain strong moral skills alongside technology. -
12:30 – 1:15: Spot the Fake: Understanding Deepfakes and AI-Generated Media
Learn how AI creates convincing fake images, audio, and video, and gain practical tips to identify and handle misinformation in digital media.
