A.J. Institute of Management Hosts International Conference on AI in Business

The A.J. Institute of Management, operated by the Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, recently held an international conference titled “Transforming Management Paradigms: AI for a Dynamic Business World” on its Mangaluru campus. Conducted in a hybrid format, the event gathered academicians, industry professionals, researchers, and students from around the world to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping business and management practices.

Director J. Swapna Shetty highlighted the critical role AI plays in changing business environments. She stressed the need for managers to continuously update their skills and adapt to technological advances. Executive Director T. Jayaprakash Rao added that AI is key to driving innovation and future business strategies.

Keynote and Technical Sessions

Durgadas Shetty, co-founder and CTO of Primsophic, Mangaluru, delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for the conference. The event included three technical sessions featuring international speakers:

  • Gang Li from Deakin University, Australia, discussed “Surf the Wave of Big Data in Tourism and Hospitality.”
  • Petricia Dlima of IBM, U.S., presented on “Driving Marketing Innovation with AI.”
  • Abhinaya Kamath from Capgemini, U.K., spoke about “AI-Driven Talent and Workforce Transformation.”

Research and Student Achievements

Participants from over 20 institutions submitted 62 research papers. The student category award for Best Paper Presentation went to Ayishah Azzah, Mohammed Ahshaan Kamil, and Mohammed Akeef Akbar of Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mangaluru. Their paper was entitled “Beyond the Screen: The Impact of AI on Teacher Creativity and Traditional Resources.”

This conference served as a valuable platform for sharing insights on AI’s practical applications in management and business.
