AI imaging company Aidoc raises $150M in funding round
Aidoc, which develops AI software for medical imaging analysis, closed a $150 million funding round, the company announced April 29. The fresh capital brings the Tel Aviv-based company's total funding to $280 million.
The company's software flags potential abnormalities in medical images and routes them to radiologists for review. Aidoc's platform works across multiple imaging types, including CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
Healthcare providers use the tool to reduce diagnostic delays. The software integrates into existing hospital workflows, meaning radiologists don't need to adopt new systems to use it.
Aidoc CEO and co-founder Elad Walach said the funding will support expansion into new markets and clinical applications. The company currently works with health systems in North America, Europe, and Asia.
The funding round arrives as hospitals face staffing shortages in radiology. Radiologist burnout has driven demand for tools that help manage workload and prioritize urgent cases.
Aidoc competes in a crowded market of medical AI vendors. Other companies offering imaging analysis software include Zebra Medical Vision, which IBM acquired in 2021, and Siemens Healthineers' internal AI division.
For healthcare professionals looking to understand how AI for Healthcare is reshaping clinical work, imaging represents one of the most mature applications. Unlike experimental AI use cases, diagnostic assistance in radiology already operates in hundreds of hospitals.
