AIJRF launches the Arab region’s first initiative to integrate AI into government communications

The Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) has introduced the AI-Powered GovComms Initiative (AIGC), a pioneering program in the Arab world to embed artificial intelligence and advanced technologies into government communication. This initiative is launched in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity.
AIGC will provide free training to over 1,000 government communication professionals within its first year. It also plans to develop AI-based communication systems that meet the specific needs of government bodies. Ten government entities are expected to back the initiative during its initial phase.
H.E Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of AIJRF, highlighted that this program strengthens the skills of Arab government communication officials by equipping them with AI tools for better planning, media monitoring, crisis management, multilingual automated content creation, and reputation building. He emphasized that this marks a turning point, as AI will be integrated beyond crisis management and monitoring to create more innovative and sustainable government communication systems.
Egypt’s Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Strategic Communication and Media, H.E Dr. Mohamed El Okby, noted that the initiative will demonstrate the ministry’s experience in developing an AI-powered communication system covering content production and communication management.

- Improve government communication officials' efficiency in using AI tools for planning, monitoring, crisis management, reputation building, and automated content creation.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must be part of a government or institutional communication team in any Arab government entity.
- Daily responsibilities should involve managing and producing government content within a team.
- Applicants should show capability and interest in working with AI tools for communication and content creation.
