Amazon Sellers Report 30% Sales Growth With AI Tools
Independent sellers on Amazon increased average annual sales by 30% to $375,000 in 2025, driven largely by adoption of generative AI and LLM tools the company rolled out across its platform.
The gains came as Amazon released its annual Small Business Empowerment Report on Thursday, detailing how sellers used AI to streamline operations and boost revenue. More than 75,000 sellers crossed the $1 million revenue threshold last year, a 36% increase from the prior year.
What the AI Tools Do
Amazon's Seller Assistant-an AI agent that provides sales projections and product improvement recommendations-attracted more than 230,000 monthly users in 2025. Sellers followed the tool's advice 90% of the time.
Generative AI listing tools created more than 12 million product listings in 2025 by automating what once required manual work. The company also deployed a Product Opportunity Explorer to surface unmet demand and pricing gaps, plus a Packaging Recommendations tool that cuts shipping costs through optimized packing.
An onboarding assistant guides new sellers through setup and answers operational questions.
The Scale of Seller Growth
Independent sellers now account for more than 60% of sales in Amazon's store. More than 11,000 U.S.-based sellers achieved a tenfold increase in sales during 2025.
These sellers supported over 2 million jobs across the country, according to Amazon.
What This Means for Sales Professionals
The results show how AI for sales can reduce manual work and improve decision-making at scale. For sellers competing on Amazon, the adoption gap is widening-those using these tools gain concrete advantages in forecasting, pricing, and listing quality.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said in the company's April earnings call that the new Seller Central experience demonstrates how to turn AI into a practical seller-service product rather than a standalone feature.
