Anthropic releases ten agent templates for financial services

Anthropic has released ten ready-to-run agent templates designed to automate routine work in financial services. The templates cover tasks from building pitchbooks and screening compliance files to closing monthly books, and can be deployed in days rather than months.

Each template packages three components: domain-specific instructions and knowledge, governed access to data sources, and additional Claude models for sub-tasks. Firms can adapt templates to their own modeling conventions, risk policies, and approval workflows.

What the templates do

The ten templates address common financial workflows:

  • Pitch Builder - Creates target lists, runs comparables, and drafts pitchbooks
  • Meeting Preparer - Assembles client and counterparty briefs before calls
  • Earnings Reviewer - Reads transcripts and filings, updates models, flags thesis-relevant changes
  • Model Builder - Creates and maintains financial models from filings and data feeds
  • Market Researcher - Tracks sector developments, synthesizes news and research, flags items for review
  • Valuation Reviewer - Checks valuations against comparables and firm standards
  • General Ledger - Reconciles accounts and runs net asset value calculations
  • Month-End Closer - Runs close checklists, prepares journal entries, produces reports
  • Statement Auditor - Reviews financial statements for consistency and audit-readiness
  • KYC Screener - Assembles entity files, reviews documents, packages escalations for compliance

Two deployment options

The templates ship as a plugin in Claude Cowork or Claude Code, running alongside analysts on local machines. Users provide a target and the system generates outputs. This setup uses existing software already on the desktop.

Alternatively, templates run as Claude Managed Agents on Anthropic's cloud platform for large-scale operations. This version includes enterprise infrastructure: long-running sessions, per-tool permissions, managed credential vaults, and full audit logs.

Microsoft 365 integration

Claude now works across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook through add-ins for Microsoft 365. In Outlook, it triages inboxes and drafts responses. In Excel, it builds financial models, audits formulas, and runs sensitivity analyses. PowerPoint decks update automatically when underlying numbers change. Word integration edits credit memos against firm templates.

The appeal for finance professionals is executing multi-step workflows across the entire Office ecosystem without switching tools. This reduces manual data transfer errors and accelerates turnaround times for time-sensitive decisions.

Expanded data partnerships

Anthropic is adding partners to provide direct, real-time access to market and research data. Claude already connects to FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, LSEG, and Daloopa, plus internal data warehouses and CRM systems.

New partners include Dun & Bradstreet for business identity verification, Fiscal AI for equity fundamentals, Financial Modeling Prep for quotes and statements across asset classes, Guidepoint for expert interview transcripts, IBISWorld for industry data, SS&C Intralinks for deal room access, Third Bridge for primary research, and Verisk for insurance data.

Current adoption in finance

FIS, a fintech company serving financial institutions, uses Claude to compress AML investigations from days to minutes. Carlyle leverages Claude's coding and reasoning capabilities across its AI stack. Citadel uses Claude to build coverage models, filter signals, and pressure-test investment work.

A Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance study found 81% of industry players now adopt AI at some level, with 40% reporting advanced adoption. However, agentic AI remains nascent but growing rapidly.

A 2025 Wolters Kluwer study found only 6% of finance leaders currently employ agentic AI, but 38% plan to adopt it within 12 months. This represents projected growth to 44% of finance teams using agentic AI by 2026-an increase of over 600%.

The CCAF study found strongest gains in technology, data, and product functions, where 79% reported positive outcomes. Back office and operations followed at 75%.
