Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) is taking significant steps to prepare students for the workforce by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) lessons into its training programs. This initiative targets key technical courses like heating and air technician and construction and building maintenance, positioning BCCC as a pioneer among North Carolina community colleges.

Introducing AI into Technical Workforce Training

BCCC has begun embedding AI concepts into its HVAC I, II, and III courses, along with construction and building maintenance classes such as Apartment Maintenance and Electrical Fundamentals. This approach reflects the growing presence of smart technologies and automation in these industries.

Over the next two years, the college plans to expand AI instruction across all workforce training programs within its Division of Continuing Education. This gradual integration ensures students develop practical skills that meet current and future job demands.
