BenQ Releases Interactive Displays With Built-In AI Tools for Classrooms
BenQ has launched two interactive display models - the Board Pro RP05 and Board Master RM05 - equipped with a 10 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU) and a suite of AI tools designed for classroom use. Both models process AI tasks on the device rather than relying on cloud services, which the company says improves security and reduces latency.
The displays are available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch sizes. They are the only large interactive displays on the market with dedicated 10 TOPS NPUs, according to BenQ.
What the AI tools do
The BenQ AI suite includes several features aimed at reducing teacher workload and keeping students engaged:
- Content summarization - condenses lesson material so students focus on discussion rather than note-taking
- Image generation - creates visuals to help explain concepts
- Lasso Search - teachers circle an image or item on screen to pull up related information instantly
- Ask AI - provides answers or explanations directly on the display without requiring separate applications
- Circle to Artify - converts handwritten notes into styled artwork with three visual options
- EZMath - converts handwritten equations and diagrams into formatted text and performs calculations
Security and infrastructure
The displays support Amazon Web Services for schools that want centralized device management and cloud backup. AWS handles automatic updates and security patches, reducing IT staff workload. On-device processing means sensitive classroom data doesn't need to travel to external servers for basic AI functions.
