Boise State’s Talkin’ Broncos Debate AI’s Role in Education After Undefeated Season
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, Boise State’s School for the Digital Future teams up with the Talkin’ Broncos, the national championship debate squad, for a student-led discussion on artificial intelligence in education. This event features members of the Talkin’ Broncos engaging in debates focused on AI’s impact in classrooms and the importance of student perspectives in shaping this conversation.
The format presents opposing viewpoints, encouraging attendees to think critically about how AI could influence teaching and learning. This is an opportunity for education professionals and students alike to hear fresh ideas and reflect on their own experiences with AI tools.
Student Voices at the Center
Allie Hampton, president of the Talkin’ Broncos and a senior in interdisciplinary studies, emphasizes the event’s purpose: “AI is going to be the biggest conversation of our generation.” She adds, “A lot of times faculty say they want to listen to student voices. This is a great opportunity for that to actively happen.”
After the debates, attendees will break out into small groups for further discussion, making space for deeper engagement on AI’s role in education.
Meet the Talkin’ Broncos
For those unfamiliar, the Talkin’ Broncos recently completed an undefeated season, winning the national championship. They competed against teams from more than 50 schools such as Rice University, University of Alabama, and Arizona State University.
Hampton points out, “Debate isn’t a spectator sport. I think this is a really cool opportunity for people to see what we actually are.”
