ByteGenie: AI-Powered Lead Generation for Hotel Sales Teams
ByteGenie Pte Ltd., a Singapore-based startup, is raising $837,000 (US$650,000) to expand its AI-driven lead generation platform for the hospitality sector. The company's solution helps corporate sales teams connect with business travelers and companies more efficiently.
Co-founder and CEO Jiale Tan shared that ByteGenie’s AI agent significantly reduces time spent on lead research—cutting it by 85%—allowing sales teams to focus more on closing deals. A major hotel chain client saw the number of qualified leads increase tenfold after adopting ByteGenie.
From Manual Research to Automated Lead Generation
Traditionally, hotel sales reps spend an entire week manually researching events, exhibitors, and potential customers to sell rooms and venue spaces. This process typically yields about 30 qualified leads.
With ByteGenie, that number jumps to over 300 highly qualified leads. The AI provides detailed intent signals, such as the types of events happening, exhibitor information, and insights into what exhibitors are engaging with. This level of detail helps sales teams prioritize their outreach effectively.
Why MICE Events Matter for Hotel Sales
Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) drive 60% to 70% of hotel sales, according to Tan. These events generate valuable leads for selling hotel rooms, conference spaces, exhibition booths, and meeting rooms.
However, gathering buyer data based on specific sales criteria is time-consuming, requiring thousands of manual hours. ByteGenie’s AI agent automates this process completely. Sales teams can instruct the AI, take a break, and return to comprehensive, ready-to-use datasets.
Accuracy Through Graph AI Agent Architecture
ByteGenie’s CTO, Majid Hasan, emphasizes the startup’s use of Graph AI Agent architecture rather than large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT or Gemini. Graph AI Agents work based on logical flowchart-style operations, ensuring precise execution of business rules.
In contrast, LLMs predict answers based on language patterns, which can cause errors, especially when exact business logic is required. For example, marketing teams applying detailed reward criteria to customers find LLMs unreliable for such precise tasks.
Looking Ahead: Growth and Automation
With additional funding, ByteGenie plans to enhance its AI tools and increase automation capabilities. The company targets a five-fold revenue increase and aims to serve 20 enterprise customers by the end of the year.
Currently, ByteGenie’s annualized revenue has reached six figures through nine contracts with seven enterprise clients.
