CelcomDigi Berhad, through its Innovation Center, is collaborating with MyDigital Corporation (MyDigital), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), and Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) to build Malaysia's first AI-powered traffic intelligence platform. The firm becomes the first telecommunications company in Malaysia to deliver large-scale traffic intelligence solutions that support the country's Digital Economy Blueprint and smart city goals.
The platform pairs CelcomDigi's 5G connectivity and AI expertise with MBPJ's urban management to address congestion, long queue times at intersections, road safety, and infrastructure planning. The objective is clear: shorter waits, safer roads, and data-informed planning decisions.
Pilot Locations and Scope
The pilot will run across several areas in the Damansara constituency of Petaling Jaya City, including PJ Sentral, SS2, and along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP). Real-time traffic insights generated by CelcomDigi's AI and analytics platforms will integrate with council systems to improve signal timing and on-ground responses.
