Crunchtime Adds Four AI Tools to Restaurant Operations Suite
Crunchtime, a software provider for restaurant operations, announced four new AI capabilities designed to reduce manual work in the back office and help managers make faster decisions. The tools address specific pain points: inventory counting, compliance verification, task analysis, and data interpretation.
The company built these features on top of its existing AI forecasting system, which some customers have used to achieve 99% accuracy in predicting food and labor costs. The new tools pull data from Crunchtime's unified suite, which covers inventory management, labor scheduling, kitchen operations, and store execution.
What the New Tools Do
Voice-Based Inventory lets managers count stock 3-4 times faster by speaking numbers into a mobile app instead of typing. A Jersey Mike's franchisee said the feature eliminates the constant looking up and down between shelves and a screen.
Photo Intelligence uses AI to review store photos automatically and check them against brand standards. The system reviews 100% of submitted images rather than relying on random sampling, which can miss compliance issues.
AI Actions analyzes thousands of task management forms in seconds to flag non-compliant execution. It identifies hidden trends and recommends follow-up actions with one click.
AI Analyst answers complex data questions in plain language. Managers type or speak a question into a natural language interface and receive analysis, rankings, or visualizations without building reports manually.
The Problem These Tools Solve
Restaurant managers have access to more data than ever but lack the time and training to interpret it. Most spend hours in the back office searching for answers instead of managing the floor or coaching staff. Crunchtime's tools aim to surface what matters and recommend specific actions.
Brian Herr, senior vice president of product at Crunchtime, said: "Restaurant operators aren't struggling with a lack of data, they are struggling with what to do with it."
What's Next
Crunchtime will demonstrate the new capabilities at a live event on May 13 at 1:00 PM ET. The company will also exhibit at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, May 16-19.
