Delhi to Equip Government Schools with AI Smart Boards and Robotics

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has announced a plan to modernize government schools by integrating artificial intelligence (AI), smart boards, and robotics into classrooms. This initiative aims to improve education quality and increase students' familiarity with emerging technologies.

During a visit to a state-run school in Surat, Gujarat, Sood observed classrooms utilizing smart boards and interacted with students to see firsthand how these tools support learning. He also toured the school's AI and Robotics Lab, where students were engaged in hands-on projects involving drones, 3D printers, and advanced sensor-based security systems.

Learning from Gujarat's Experience

Despite Delhi's status as the national capital with significant resources, its government schools currently have only a few hundred smart boards. In comparison, Gujarat has implemented over 110,000 smart classrooms, even while managing challenges like annual floods in some districts. Sood noted this gap and highlighted Gujarat's success as a model to follow.

The visit was part of an effort to review the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and to identify effective educational practices from other states. Sood praised Gujarat's reforms and encouraged other states to consider similar approaches.

Bringing Technology to Delhi's Classrooms

  • Delhi plans to expand the use of smart boards and robotics labs in government schools.
  • The goal is to prepare students with skills aligned to current technological trends.
  • Hands-on experience with AI and robotics will better equip students for future careers in a digital environment.

This move reflects a broader shift in India’s education system toward integrating technology for practical learning. Schools adopting these tools can offer students valuable exposure to fields like AI and robotics early in their education.

For educators and policymakers looking to support this transformation, exploring specialized AI and robotics training can be valuable. Programs available at Complete AI Training offer courses that align with these emerging educational needs.
