Dyna.Ai Japan, DOLBIX Consulting, and Nikkoku Soft have launched a joint proof of concept for an AI-powered auto insurance sales support platform designed for Japanese car dealerships. The pilot, scheduled to begin in August 2026, will run in live showroom environments with support from Remolif Co., Ltd. and Toyota Corolla Kagawa Co., Ltd.

The initiative responds to two converging pressures on dealership staff. A Teikoku Databank survey found over 50% of Japanese companies report full-time staffing shortages, pushing frontline employees to juggle vehicle sales, financing, and insurance renewals. At the same time, recent revisions to Japan's Insurance Business Act introduced mandatory disclosures and detailed customer needs assessments, adding administrative friction to every sales conversation.

The platform acts as an assistant to licensed insurance representatives, who retain full authority over customer interactions. It is designed to operate within the parameters of the Insurance Business Act and the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

Three features tested in the pilot

The pilot evaluates three core functions aimed at licensed sales representatives. Instant Policy Lookup retrieves relevant coverage details and optional riders in real time during customer conversations. Compliance Checklists display required disclosures as a structured, step-by-step list to prevent oversights. Automatic Discussion Summaries generate structured records immediately after each meeting, cutting administrative paperwork.

The program reflects a broader shift toward embedded finance. Grand View Research projects the global embedded finance market will reach $588.49 billion by 2030, driven by integrating financial services into non-financial environments. By bringing point-of-sale insurance capabilities into physical showrooms, Toyota Corolla Kagawa lets customers handle vehicle purchase and insurance setup at a single touchpoint.

What's next for the platform

"This partnership shows how enterprise AI can be tailored to solve specific operational bottlenecks in regional retail markets," said Joe Shiba, President of Dyna.Ai Japan. "Working alongside established Japanese IT and consulting leaders allows us to deliver intuitive technology that empowers frontline teams while remaining compliant with local regulatory standards."

The companies plan to introduce advanced features starting late 2026, following the initial on-site testing. These include core system integration and automated quote generation, setting up a broader commercial rollout across Japanese dealerships.

For insurance professionals, this PoC signals a practical shift in how AI for insurance is being applied to the sales floor. The focus isn't on replacing advisors but on removing compliance friction, which could let licensed staff handle more customer conversations per day with fewer administrative follow-ups.

Why this matters for insurance professionals

For insurance agents and brokers, the core takeaway is that AI assistance is moving from back-office processing into the live sales conversation. Tools that handle policy lookups and generate post-meeting summaries could reduce the non-selling time in a representative's day, allowing them to focus on relationship-building. The Japanese pilot also serves as a model for how AI for customer support might operate in regulated industries, where compliance checks are built into the workflow rather than bolted on afterward.
