AI A+ Computer Training Launches EduBot Nigeria for Indigenous Language Education
Date: August 14, 2025
A+ Computer Training Technology Limited (A+ CTT) has introduced EduBot Nigeria, an AI-powered educational chatbot that delivers lessons in Nigerian indigenous languages. The launch took place at the company’s MSME Hub located at Hill Station Roundabout in Jos, bringing together education officials, technology experts, community leaders, and media personnel.
Bridging Education Gaps with AI and Local Languages
EduBot Nigeria was created in collaboration with Triangle Development Advisory (USA) to address Nigeria’s digital skills gap and improve access to quality education in underserved communities. This platform is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and designed to function offline, enabling use in rural areas with limited or no internet connectivity.
The chatbot focuses on women, youth, and out-of-school children, combining artificial intelligence with education in native languages to improve learning outcomes. It integrates official syllabuses from the Federal Ministry of Education into Nigeria’s three major languages—Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo—plus five structured Plateau State languages: Birom, Ngas, Mwaghavul, Tarok, and Gmai.
Ensuring Cultural Relevance and Accuracy
Local language custodians actively participate in translating and validating the educational content. This collaboration guarantees that lessons remain culturally relevant and linguistically accurate, which is essential for effective learning.
Focus on Accessibility and Practical Learning
The founder and CEO, Chief Kope Sylvanos Joseph, highlighted that the chatbot addresses the challenge of teaching complex subjects like physics and chemistry in native languages. He pointed out that countries such as China and India have improved literacy and industrial growth by prioritizing mother-tongue education.
Registrar Professor Buba Audu confirmed the chatbot is ready for deployment after successful prototyping. He encouraged partnerships between government and private sectors to help expand the project nationwide.
Supporting National Goals and Future Expansion
- EduBot aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Nigeria’s National Digital Economy Policy.
- It promotes digital inclusion while preserving indigenous languages.
- A+ CTT plans to extend EduBot’s language coverage to all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
- This expansion will provide more communities with access to AI-driven, culturally relevant education.
