EQT Acquires Leading South Korean AI-Enabled HR Tech Platform, Remember
Seoul, 11 August 2025 – EQT has agreed to acquire a controlling stake in Remember & Company (“Remember”), South Korea’s foremost AI-powered HR technology platform. The transaction, valued at about KRW 500 billion (USD 400 million), stands as one of the largest deals in the country's HR tech sector. Major shareholders, including Ark & Partners, will sell their stakes to EQT as part of this acquisition.
EQT secured exclusive negotiation rights by leveraging its deep expertise in the HR tech space, avoiding a competitive bidding process. Originally founded in 2013 as a business card management app, Remember has evolved into an AI-driven platform serving over 5 million users and more than 10,000 enterprise clients across South Korea.
Remember’s Unique Offering for HR Professionals
Remember operates with a proprietary, self-updating database containing over 500 million name cards. This extensive dataset powers end-to-end recruitment solutions that improve hiring speed, accuracy, and recruiter productivity. Beyond recruitment, Remember offers content-driven networking, CRM features, and lead generation tools.
Often called the “LinkedIn of Korea,” Remember fills a gap in a market where LinkedIn is less established. It supports more inclusive and efficient hiring across industries, particularly benefiting mid-sized and enterprise clients. The platform also equips a network of over 400 in-house headhunters with AI tools to enhance their productivity and service quality.
Market and Strategic Context
South Korea’s demographic changes and growing demand for experienced hires are driving the adoption of AI-enabled talent platforms like Remember. The platform’s growth aligns with broader trends favoring outsourced and technology-driven recruitment methods.
EQT’s investment reflects its confidence in these trends. The firm has previously invested in HR tech companies such as Beamery (UK), HRBrain (Japan), Handshake (US), and PageUp (Australia). This acquisition complements EQT’s long-term strategy in Asia Pacific, where South Korea plays a key role.
Role of Ark & Partners
Ark & Partners, a next-generation growth buyout investor based in Seoul, acquired Remember in December 2021. Since then, they have transformed the company from a business card app into a rapidly growing HR tech platform. Remember’s revenue increased more than twelvefold over three years under their leadership.
Dayea Yeon, Partner at EQT Private Capital Korea, noted: “Remember is uniquely positioned at the intersection of South Korea’s demographic shifts and AI-driven talent management. With strong growth and a clear competitive edge, it represents a compelling investment. We look forward to supporting Remember’s ambition to become Asia’s leading HR tech platform.”
Sungmin Kim, Founder and CEO of Ark & Partners, added: “This deal validates our growth buyout strategy and highlights the synergy between South Korea’s venture ecosystem and private equity market. We believe EQT is the ideal long-term partner for Remember’s next phase of growth.”
