PrizePicks Engineer Launches AI Sales Coaching App After 16-Week Sprint to $400K Revenue
Alim Charaniya, an early engineer at fantasy sports platform PrizePicks, is building CloserCoach, an AI operating system designed to train and coach sales reps in real time. The startup reached $400,000 in annual recurring revenue within 16 weeks of launching in October 2025.
CloserCoach works as a mobile app that functions like "Duolingo for sales," according to Charaniya. Sales reps use it to prepare for calls, receive live coaching during conversations, and get performance scorecards based on recorded call analysis.
What the Product Does
The app helps reps practice handling objections and test different responses before high-stakes conversations. During calls, it provides real-time guidance. After calls, it generates scorecards that show individual performance metrics for both reps and their managers.
Charaniya and co-founder Taylor Martinez built CloserCoach after running Ambitious Labs, which was acquired by RapidDev in October 2025. That experience taught Charaniya he enjoyed building sales teams and saw an opportunity to apply the technology they'd developed.
The PrizePicks Playbook
Charaniya was the 19th employee and second engineer at PrizePicks, which completed a major exit this year when Allwyn acquired a 62.3% stake for $1.5 billion. He plans to follow PrizePicks' approach by prioritizing capital efficiency and profitability early.
He's betting Atlanta can produce another category-defining sales technology company. The city already has examples in Salesloft and Mailchimp. "Atlanta has already seen a lot of really great sales and marketing technology companies," Charaniya said.
