GE HealthCare Expands AI Mammography Partnership With DeepHealth
GE HealthCare has broadened its partnership with DeepHealth, a RadNet subsidiary, to scale AI-powered mammography tools globally. The company announced the expansion at the Society of Breast Imaging Annual Symposium on April 24, integrating advanced software into existing imaging workflows to improve early breast cancer detection.
What the Partnership Delivers
The collaboration builds on a 2024 pilot that paired DeepHealth's AI screening capabilities with GE HealthCare's Senographe Pristina mammography systems. The expanded phase introduces the DeepHealth Breast Suite, a cloud-based platform that streamlines breast imaging workflows and diagnostic accuracy.
Two AI tools anchor the offering: ProFound Pro automatically detects lesions and measures breast density, while Safeguard Review flags complex cases for radiologist review. The software integrates into existing systems without requiring workflow redesign.
Market Growth and Clinical Need
The computer-aided detection mammography market reached $1.10 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to $2.70 billion by 2035, according to market research. Rising breast cancer screening volumes and demand for earlier diagnosis are driving adoption.
The World Health Organization identifies breast cancer as one of the most common cancers globally. AI tools are being adopted to reduce diagnostic variability and improve detection rates, addressing a clinical gap in screening capacity.
Jyoti Gupta, CEO of women's health and X-ray technologies at GE HealthCare, said the partnership enables "patients to have breast cancer spotted at an earlier age and with more certainty."
For healthcare professionals managing imaging operations or clinical workflows, understanding how AI for Healthcare integrates into existing systems helps inform technology decisions and implementation planning.
