Hamilton AI Names Product Leader Who Shipped Three Products in One Quarter

Hamilton AI, an AI platform for private aviation operations, appointed Matthew Schwegler as Head of Product on May 14. Within his first three months, Schwegler launched three new tools: financial software for aviation operators, flight dispatch coordination, and a broker marketplace.

The pace reflects how Hamilton builds. Schwegler works at operator desks, prototyping in real time with customers shaping products through use rather than months-long requirements cycles. This approach compresses timelines that traditionally define aviation software development.

The Three Products

  • Hamilton Banking - Financial tooling built for aviation operations, powered by a partnership with Column, a nationally chartered bank.
  • Hamilton Dispatch - AI-powered coordination for flight operations teams.
  • Hamilton for Brokers - A marketplace connecting operators and brokers to streamline charter sourcing.

Who Schwegler Is

Schwegler spent his career at the intersection of aviation, software, and complex operations. At Joby Aviation, he built ElevateOS, the FAA-authorized software powering air taxi operations. He led product development for Uber Elevate's cloud services platform and launched Uber Copter, the company's first multimodal aerial ride-sharing product.

Earlier, he directed product management at AirMap, where he led creation of LAANC - the FAA's first nationwide real-time airspace authorization system for drone operators. He started his career as an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. Air Force and holds FAA certifications as a private and remote pilot.

The Funding and Partnership

Hamilton AI raised $7.5 million in a seed round led by TTV Capital. The company also announced a banking infrastructure partnership with Column, which provides banking services to Brex, Mercury, and Ramp.

Wouter Witvoet, Hamilton's founder, said the appointment validates the company's approach. "Three products in three months is what's possible when product, engineering, and customers work together in a fundamentally different way - and in this industry, execution is everything," Witvoet said.

Schwegler will lead product development and design across Hamilton's full suite, focusing on expanding tools that cover the entire operator workflow from initial quote to final payment.
