Mark 3 International Teams Up with Dobby AI to Improve Logistics Operations
Mark 3 International, a leader in express parcel and freight logistics between the UK and the US, has partnered with New York startup Dobby AI to develop an AI-powered operations agent. This tool will organize and consolidate shipment data, creating a single, reliable source of information for easier reconciliation and sharing.
The AI agent will process data from various sources—including emails, texts, ERP, and TMS systems—to streamline workflows and resolve inconsistencies. By providing core shipment data, Mark 3 enables the AI to learn and deliver more accessible, accurate information to its customers.
Practical Benefits for Logistics Management
Matthew Ware, CEO of Mark 3, noted that the logistics industry has been slow to adopt new technologies. This partnership marks a step forward in bringing AI into global logistics ecosystems. Ware emphasized the goal of enhancing the customer experience by delivering verified, accurate shipment data at every stage.
This initiative is part of Mark 3’s broader plan to upgrade operational infrastructure and support ongoing growth. The company has seen increased demand over the past year and is preparing for further expansion. The AI system will be rolled out gradually, with parts already in use and full internal adoption expected within four to six months.
Dobby AI’s Approach to Supply Chain Technology
Dobby AI was founded by Taylan Kalkavan, a former Senior Product Manager at Dropbox, and Francesco Paduano, previously a staff engineer at Meta. Their goal is to create simple, user-friendly solutions powered by sophisticated technology.
Kalkavan explained that most supply chain technologies are developed by experts focused narrowly on one segment rather than the entire ecosystem. Additionally, they are often not strong technologists, resulting in fragmented and low-quality tools that complicate rather than simplify logistics.
Partnering with Mark 3 allows Dobby AI to build a comprehensive, high-quality product using real-world data. This collaboration aims to bring a practical, well-rounded AI tool to the logistics sector.
Supporting Infrastructure and Future Plans
Alongside the AI partnership, Mark 3 recently opened a 12,000 sq ft facility at JFK Airport in New York and plans to launch a similar center at LAX Airport within the next 18 months. The company also promoted two key staff members to leverage their UK/US logistics experience for expanding operations internationally.
This combination of technology and infrastructure investments positions Mark 3 for continued growth and improved service delivery across its logistics network.
