Motive Launches AI Fleet Operations Platform in the UK

Motive has introduced its AI-powered fleet operations platform to the UK market, setting up a dedicated office in London. This platform offers integrated solutions for fleet management, workforce management, and driver safety—features already in use by fleets across North America.

Nyanya Joof joins as regional vice president, overseeing strategy, hiring, and go-to-market execution. With 15 years of experience, including leadership roles at WeWork, Joof is positioned to guide Motive's expansion in the region.

The platform supports fleets transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs) through tools designed for mixed fleets and EV-specific forecasting software. This software optimizes routing, plans charging schedules, and minimizes vehicle downtime.

  • Driver Safety: AI detects mobile phone use and high-risk driving behaviors, enabling fleet managers to implement targeted coaching and maintain high safety standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Features include maintenance planning, route optimization, and enhanced driver safety to reduce expenses.
  • Workforce Management: Automates scheduling, time tracking, payroll, training, and documentation, easing administrative burdens.
  • Driver App: Allows for digital completion of roadside inspections and compliance documents, improving efficiency and accuracy.

Shoaib Makani, CEO and co-founder, emphasized Motive’s focus: “Our mission is to empower those running physical operations with tools to make their work safer and more productive. Bringing this to the UK now means helping businesses reduce collisions, lower costs, automate manual tasks, and support sustainable fleet operations.”

Zach Spengler, director of environmental health and safety at ABM Aviation, shared his experience: “Motive’s AI platform is transforming fleet safety management in parts of our U.S. operations. It helps prevent collisions, protect drivers, and respond faster with near real-time insights. The potential benefits for UK businesses include improved safety, streamlined maintenance, and better fuel efficiency.”
