MSU Texas student launches SetFlow, an AI platform for student organization and data security
Sanithu Hulathduwage, a 20-year-old computer science student at MSU Texas, built SetFlow to solve a problem he faced himself: juggling multiple educational apps before exams.
"I was stuck right before exams, trying to figure out how to juggle between these apps, how to get the information from this app and this app," Hulathduwage said. "So I decided to build SetFlow, to make my life easier at first, and then later on, I got the idea of just expanding."
How SetFlow works
SetFlow functions as an AI execution engine. It helps users take ideas, organize them into action, retain information, and simplify daily workflows.
The platform prioritizes three areas: organization, productivity, and data security.
Data security as a core feature
Hulathduwage built security measures into SetFlow after recent concerns about data breaches in educational tools like Canva AI.
"Your new emails, your birthday, your SSN, everything that identifies you is out there in the system and if someone gets access to that, it can get very dangerous," he said. "SetFlow uses a lot of security measures to keep your data safe and inside the flow, so that none of it gets leaked. Also, we don't hold any important data."
Advice for other student builders
Hulathduwage encourages others to act on their ideas despite self-doubt. "There were a lot of times that I didn't know how to use this app, how to use this service, how to code. I'm not a good coder. I'm just 20 years old. So if you have an idea, just start on it, act on it, and if you are feeling stuck, just Google, AI, ChatGPT - anything's out there for you."
Students and educators can learn more about SetFlow online and follow future developments on the platform.
