Onfire AI raises $20M Seed to bring military precision to SaaS sales

Onfire AI raised $20 million in Seed funding led by TLV Partners and Grove Ventures, with participation from IN Venture and Leumi Tech 77, the new investment arm of Bank Leumi. The round closed in two phases, starting in 2023 and continuing into this year. The company is focused on helping software and cloud sales teams act on real buyer intent in real time.

Onfire AI built a contextual intelligence platform that scans forums, blogs, social networks, and developer communities to surface prospects and their immediate needs. By turning large volumes of open data into clear signals, it lets sales teams prioritize high-fit accounts and personalize outreach with specifics that actually move a deal forward.

"We took the informing capability that armies use and gave similar capabilities to sales teams in our content world," said co-founder and CEO Tal Peretz. Before writing a line of code, the founders met with hundreds of companies to map the biggest go-to-market pain points. Their next target: $10 million in sales within the coming year.

What this means for sales teams

  • Reach prospects when they're publicly voicing pains, comparing tools, or asking for recommendations.
  • Prioritize accounts by context and intent, not just firmographics or a static ICP checklist.
  • Write first-touch emails that reference the exact post, thread, or tech stack mentioned by the prospect.
  • Feed these signals into your current prospecting cadence so reps spend less time guessing and more time closing.

How it works (at a glance)

The platform aggregates open conversations and activity across developer hubs and communities, then flags buyer intent and need. If you want a primer on the practice behind this approach, read up on open-source intelligence (OSINT).

The team behind it

Onfire AI was founded in 2023 by Tal Peretz (CEO), Shahar Shavit (CTO), and Nitzan Hadar (CPO), all alumni of the IDF's Unit 8200. During their service, they won two Israel Defense Awards for major projects: one system tracked individual terrorists for the IDF and Shin Bet, and another provided automated target recommendations based on advanced algorithms.

In the company's first six months, about 90% of employees-two founders included-served in reserve duty amid Israel's ongoing war. The team even signed its first commercial deal while the founders were on active reserve. Onfire AI now employs 33 people: 28 in Israel and 5 in New York.

Traction and customers

Current customers include Aiven, Spectro Cloud, and Cyera. The focus from here is scaling go-to-market with a clear sales target and maintaining the signal quality that early customers are buying.

Investors and round details

The Seed round was led by TLV Partners and Grove Ventures, with participation from IN Venture and Leumi Tech 77, Bank Leumi's new investment arm. The funding was completed across two phases spanning 2023 and 2025.

How to put this to work this quarter

  • Map your best public watering holes: the forums, subreddits, Slack groups, and dev communities where your ICP asks for help.
  • Build outreach snippets that reference the exact thread and problem stated. Keep it specific, short, and useful.
  • Coordinate with marketing to monitor the top threads weekly and spin them into content, offers, and follow-up angles for SDRs.
