Overhaul and Navium Launch First Dedicated Insurance for AI Hardware Shipments
Overhaul and Navium have launched the Helix Consortium, the first insurance product designed specifically for shipments of AI infrastructure. The consortium combines real-time cargo monitoring with Lloyd's of London underwriting capacity and offers coverage limits up to $75 million under a single agreement.
The move addresses a gap in the insurance market. GPU clusters, AI chips, and liquid-cooled servers now move across global supply chains in volumes and values that exceed the capacity of traditional cargo insurance. Individual shipments frequently exceed tens of millions of dollars, require precise environmental controls, and attract organized theft.
How the Product Works
The Helix Consortium embeds real-time risk intelligence into the insurance itself. Overhaul's platform attaches label trackers to individual pallets, providing live visibility of every asset in transit across road, rail, ocean, and air transport. The company's Global Security Operations Centers monitor shipments around the clock.
Overhaul currently tracks $1.4 trillion in cargo value across 150+ countries and processes more than 30 billion IoT events annually. The company reports preventing 98% of disruptions on monitored shipments.
Unlike conventional cargo insurance, this product uses live data to inform underwriting decisions and incident response. Navium leads the consortium as managing general agent within the Lloyd's market, bringing cargo expertise alongside Overhaul's monitoring capability.
Onboarding and Availability
The Helix Consortium is available globally across all transport modes. Overhaul handles onboarding through its technology platform, completing setup in as little as 15 days. Coverage begins immediately upon binding.
Brokers and insured parties can submit inquiries now. Navium will host an official launch event in London on June 25, 2026.
