Rokit Healthcare enters Saudi market with chronic kidney disease AI platform

Rokit Healthcare signed a technology licensing agreement Thursday with Saudi Arabian healthcare company LifeHope to deploy its chronic kidney disease prediction algorithm in the country. The deal structures recurring royalties at 20 percent of net sales, giving Rokit a foothold in the Middle Eastern digital health market.

LifeHope will integrate Rokit's CKD prediction AI into its Longevity Platform and handle commercialization through connections with Saudi hospital networks and insurance systems. Rokit supplies the algorithm in object code only, retaining ownership of source code, datasets, and core AI architecture.

Market size and opportunity

Saudi Arabia has roughly 1.2 million to 1.7 million CKD patients, according to prevalence estimates of 4.76 percent. The addressable market expands significantly when including high-risk groups: the country has an estimated 5.34 million adults with diabetes and 5.1 million with hypertension.

Combined, these populations represent a potential market of 6 million to 10 million people. Testing prices in Saudi Arabia's premium hospital-based screening services could reach around $100 per test, though actual revenue will depend on hospital adoption rates, insurance reimbursement decisions, and regulatory approvals.

Regional expansion plans

Saudi Arabia will serve as Rokit's hub for expansion across the Middle East and North Africa region. The company plans to extend the same AI platform model to other Gulf Cooperation Council countries-the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait-where the addressable market could grow several times larger than Saudi Arabia alone.

A LifeHope official said kidney disease represents a serious public health issue in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, with strong government backing for prevention and diagnostic programs. The official noted that "a technology capable of predicting disease risks five years in advance is something entirely new."

For healthcare professionals working with AI for healthcare or managing disease screening programs, this agreement signals how AI data analysis is being deployed in clinical prediction models across new markets.
