Published: 20 Oct, 2025
SEA.AI, a leader in advanced marine vision systems, has named Scott Middleton as Head of Global Sales. He brings 20+ years in maritime technology and communications with a clear track record in safety and sustainability.
Middleton started at Weathernews Inc., building expertise in voyage optimization for safer, more fuel-efficient operations. He later led global sales at S5 Agency World and held senior roles at Inmarsat across EMEA, ASPAC Offshore Energy, and North Europe-serving enterprise maritime customers with satellite communications.
"SEA.AI is at the forefront of change across commercial, governmental, and recreational marine segments," said Middleton. "Offering AI-driven collision avoidance and risk reduction in these increasingly digital markets is exciting. With our partners, our mission is to save lives at sea by delivering stronger situational awareness for vessels across all sectors."
"Scott's background in maritime safety, satellite communications, and global sales leadership is an ideal match for SEA.AI's goals," said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of SEA.AI. "He brings the expertise and the passion to scale into new markets while staying true to our mission of saving lives at sea."
Why this matters for sales teams
- Clear value story: Reduce collisions and near-misses, lower insurance exposure, protect crews and assets, and support ESG mandates-while improving operational efficiency.
- High-stakes buyers: Fleet managers, HSE leaders, masters, operations, CTOs, and procurement all influence deals; multi-threading is essential.
- Data-backed ROI: Metrics your champions care about include incident reduction, false-positive rates, installation time, uptime, and integration performance.
- Compliance and risk: Class approvals, port state expectations, and insurer requirements strengthen the business case.
Go-to-market focus under Middleton
