Stellantis and Microsoft team up on 100+ AI projects for vehicles and operations
Stellantis and Microsoft announced a five-year partnership to accelerate the automaker's digital transformation through AI, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure. The companies will co-develop more than 100 AI initiatives across customer care, product development and operations.
For product teams, the collaboration includes AI for product development applications: AI-powered product validation, predictive maintenance testing, and faster deployment of digital features. These tools aim to compress development cycles and improve quality assurance.
Infrastructure and cybersecurity improvements
Stellantis will migrate its IT infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, targeting a 60% reduction in data center footprint by 2029. The shift maintains performance while reducing operational costs.
The partnership includes an AI-driven cyber defense center to protect vehicles, customer data and operations globally. This addresses growing security demands as vehicles become more connected.
Customer-facing capabilities
The companies aim to deliver vehicle health monitoring, energy-efficiency recommendations and improved in-car digital experiences. These services rely on data insights generated across Stellantis' operations and customer base.
The partnership expands an existing relationship between the two companies, combining Stellantis' automotive expertise with Microsoft AI capabilities and cloud infrastructure.
