UAE Government Targets 50% AI Transformation in Two Years
The UAE announced a new framework for deploying AI Agents & Automation across government operations, aiming to overhaul half of all government sectors, services and processes within 24 months. The initiative focuses on improving efficiency, speeding up transactions and redesigning policies around AI capabilities.
The government also renamed the Ministerial Development Council as the Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development, giving it direct oversight of AI adoption programs across agencies.
Government Agencies Show Results
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation reduced procedural paperwork by up to 100 percent under its Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme through AI adoption, cutting processing times and requirements.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority launched commercial autonomous taxi service powered by AI and deep-learning algorithms that make real-time driving decisions.
Khalifa University's Digital Future Institute deployed the first AI language model operating in the radio frequency spectrum, interpreting wireless signals with over 98 percent accuracy.
International Recognition and Growth
Microsoft's AI Diffusion Report ranked the UAE first globally for the third consecutive year in Q1 2026, with 70.1 percent adoption and growth nearly four times the global average.
A Boston Consulting Group study found 42 percent of UAE institutions operating as "AI leaders." Stanford University identified the UAE as an emerging global AI hub, with more than 80 percent of employees regularly using AI and specialised talent concentration more than doubling between 2019 and 2025.
Broader AI Initiatives
The UAE launched an AI-powered foreign trade platform in partnership with Presight, a G42 company, and presented a white paper on moving from static regulatory frameworks to AI-driven, dynamic legislative systems.
Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence established "The Academy" for AI knowledge exchange and created the first fellowship combining AI and the arts.
G42 signed agreements to develop sovereign AI capabilities in Vietnam and announced an AI supercomputer in India with eight exaflops computing capacity in partnership with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
